Academic-Only Evaluation
An academic evaluation
includes a comprehensive assessment of reading, spelling, math, written
language expression and vocabulary knowledge. This evaluation typically
takes 3 to 4 hours and can be completed over two separate mornings or
in one day with a break for lunch. The following academic skills are
assessed:
- Word recognition, word attack, reading fluency and speed,
contextual
reading accuracy, reading vocabulary and reading comprehension
- Spelling (both real words and nonsense words)
- Sentence writing and writing fluency, editing and
proofreading, grammar and punctuation
- Receptive and expressive vocabulary skills
- Math computation, math fluency and applied math reasoning
